Vicky actively teaches at Key to Music offering lessons for piano, voice, ukulele, double reeds, clarinet and saxophone.

🎶 Vicky – Woodwinds, Piano & Voice Instructor

A South Florida native, Vicky has been actively performing since the age of 10. She began her musical journey studying piano and voice before joining band as a clarinetist throughout middle and high school. In her teens, she expanded her talents to include alto saxophone and oboe, developing a strong passion for woodwind performance.

Vicky pursued her love of music education at Miami Dade College, where she earned her Associate’s degree in Music Education and chose oboe and English horn as her primary instruments. She continued her studies at the University of South Florida, earning her Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance under the guidance of Amy Collins.

Her passion for teaching grew during her undergraduate years, leading her to Southeastern Louisiana University, where she earned a Master’s degree in Music Performance under Dr. Everette Scott Smith. During this time, she served as a teaching assistant and held several key roles within the music department, including assisting with the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble, leading reed classes and oboe studio, and teaching college-level courses in beginner music theory and aural skills.

Vicky has performed in a wide range of ensembles, including orchestras, bands, chamber groups, woodwind quintets, and vocal bands. She currently performs with the Indian River Pops Orchestra in Stuart, Florida.

As an instructor, Vicky brings a well-rounded, professional approach to her teaching, helping students build strong fundamentals, musical confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
